Upcoming Events!
Spring has been a busy time at the shop with lots of tea bookings, live music, and the annual Spring Fest in April. May has been no less busy with Mother’s Day teas and gatherings of all kinds. We are already staring down the barrel of summer and prepping for lots of fun, and we’d love to have you join us!
Mardi Gras Jazz Night!
Downtown Enterprise hosts its very first Mardi Gras festival Friday, January 26, complete with a Bead Crawl and the crowning of the King and Queen! There will be events all up and down Main Street, and Coffee Corner will feature King Cake muffins all day, plus our fabulous local jazz trio from Hoobler Music from 7-9pm!
Coffee Corner 2.0
Demolition of our corner of Enterprise began early in the morning January 9. The crew had hoped they’d be able to save our 100-year-old counter, but, sadly, the logistics involved with detaching all the electrical and plumbing and unbolting the corners from the floor proved impossible. Instead, the crew invited Matt in to sift through what was left after the outer wall came down.
Get ready for the Block Party!
Downtown Enterprise will host a fantastic summertime block party Friday, July 22nd, starting at 4pm.
Bouquet Workshop & Tea March 12!
Come join us for a bouquet-building workshop with Blooms by Wild Poppy, followed by a Spring High Tea, including antique china tiers loaded with delicious goodies!
Two February Teas!
Our first High Tea event in January was a delightful success, and we have scheduled two more teas for February.
Exciting changes coming in 2022!
We have had a fantastic first three months in business, and we are very excited about the new year and what we can do in it. Thank you so much for your enthusiastic patronage and excellent feedback. We have listened to and considered all of your suggestions, and we’ve come up with a plan for 2022 that we hope will please everyone.
We are open!
If you stopped by Saturday for our low-key soft opening, thank you! It was amazing to see everyone throughout the day, and we really enjoyed getting to know those who could linger for a while. Now that we’ve tried our wings, we will be ready to serve you each weekday, starting at 6:30am.
We are almost ready!
After a month of non-stop work, our café space is fully finished and as cozy as we had hoped… So why aren’t we open yet?
And away we go!
Thanks to 57 backers pledging, our Kickstarter Campaign was fully funded on July 20, and we are officially “off to the races” with our build-out! The electricians and plumbers are in this week, running conduits and new pipes for all our equipment. Hopefully we will get the back counter built out in the next couple of weeks.
Meet David…
I will never forget the day D. David Morin strolled into our lives. It was a golden afternoon in Kenya, July 2011. Our family had been in the country since January, acclimating to a new culture, the kiswahili language, and all the things that make Africa my heart’s true north.
Featuring Shopaholic!
Our neighbor down Main Street is supplying the insulated travel tumblers for our café, and we are delighted to feature this exquisite shop here on our blog.
Check out the progress on our bar counter!
My latest update on our beautiful 100-year-old bar counter is on Kickstarter now. I am so excited how this beautiful piece of history is turning out.
Featuring All About Art!
I am so excited to share this little glimpse into our neighboring shop, All About Art, which is producing gorgeous stoneware mugs for the café.
It’s like a barn raising…
At a barn-raising, each person brings whatever they can to help—nails, boards, tools, meals—which spreads the expense around and dilutes it to a manageable level.
Sustainability & Community
I received an excellent request from one of our backers and decided to post it here as well, since it covers an important topic.
We are off to the races!
We are working as hard as we can to open by mid-to-late August. To reach that goal, we’ve got to crowdfund and bust our buns to do as much as we can ourselves.
